About us
Welcome to Metaphoric Tools, where craftsmanship meets the artistry of sound.
With over two decades of personal exploration in sound and instrument crafting, our company has dedicated itself to producing top-quality, handcrafted flutes, drums, zithers, and rattles. Inspired by the rich traditions of the First Nations of the Americas and Siberia, each creation is a testament to our profound connection to the spirit of sound.
At Metaphoric Tools, we view our instruments as more than mere objects; they are the tools of communication that transcend spoken language. As the wise Elders of the Andes proclaim, music, instrument playing, and dance serve as the channels to communicate with the diverse beings of the spirit world—be it the rivers, mountains, fire, or our ancestors. This profound understanding forms the bedrock of inspiration for the meticulous handcrafting that defines our work.
Our commitment extends beyond craftsmanship; it’s about infusing intention and care into every aspect of our business. We aim not only to offer inspiration to our customers but also to engage in reciprocity with Native communities whose wisdom has greatly enriched our journey. Metaphoric Tools stands as a bridge between tradition and innovation, blending ancient practices with contemporary craftsmanship.
Moreover, we provide immersive workshop spaces where individuals can craft their own instruments, and our Sound Alchemy offerings incorporate the very instruments we meticulously build. We are driven by a passion to bring health and healing to our musical community through the artistry of our craft.
Join us on this harmonious journey, where each instrument tells a story and resonates with the spirit of ancient traditions, creating a symphony that transcends time and space.
Here is Our Team

Wojciech Wieconkowski, the visionary founder and leader of the Metaphoric Tools workshop, embarked on his journey into instrument craftsmanship over two decades ago. In 2012, the workshop was officially established, marking the inception of his Love Flute creations. Over the years, Wojciech has honed his craft by collaborating with healers from diverse traditions in South and North America. This immersive experience has shaped his sound practice, drumming journeys, and ceremonial guidance in Poland.
Wojciech’s commitment to learning ancestral wisdom is ongoing through studies with elders from Ecuador, Peru, Brazil, and the Red Path, enriching his understanding and practice in profound ways.

Tomek Michalak is part of the Metaphoric Tools team, where he builds drums and is deepening his knowledge of instrument making. An artist who draws every day, he has a distinctive, recognisable style that reflects his sensitivity and curiosity across different worlds and forms of expression. He also works as a tattoo artist. Art, image and sound are his natural territory.

Laura Mulica is part of the Metaphoric Tools team, where she crafts and sews instrument cases. A maker and artist at heart, she brings both practical skill and an artistic eye to everything she creates. She’s curious, sensitive, and thrives in collaboration. Nature and the simple, everyday art of living are close to her.

Aleksandra Walendzik – an artist, art therapist, and life enthusiast. She cherishes the art of creating circumstances and objects that offer the potential for transformation, joy, and a sense of fulfillment. Her journey in the workshop began with enriching selected instruments with celestial artwork. Since 2018, she has been crafting Ceremonial Rattles, sewing them in three distinct styles: Wildness, Creativity, and Simplicity. Additionally, she takes on special orders to create personalized rattles and art work on wooden instruments.
Aleksandra also opens the doors to her workshop, inviting participants on a journey to explore creativity and craft their own rattles by hand.
